Elements and Principles of Design

The elements of design used in this picture are: colour is used to make each apple stand out, empty space is used in this picture around the apples to make you focus on the apples, size is used to make all of the apples look equal in size, and texture in this picture is used with the water on the apples making them look wet.

The principles of design used in this picture are: contrast is used with the black background colour and 3 different apple colours to make them stand out and proximity is used to to show visual unity by putting the 3 apples beside each other.

The elements of design used in this picture are: space on the left side of the picture to define the importance of the motorcycle, value is used in this picture because everything to the left of the motorcycle is blurry and the motorcyle is very clear which shows the importance of the motorcyle once again, size is used to create a visual interest for the motorcycle and texture is used on the road which is very smooth implying that it is a smooth ride on the motorcycle.

The principles of design used in this picture are: contrast is used by tone/value in this picture and this makes the motorcycle stand out from the blurred part of the picture and alignment is used by making the motorcycle aligned well with the road, and this makes the picture feel visually cohesive.
