Elements and Principles of Design

The elements of design used in this picture are: colour is used to make each apple stand out, empty space is used in this picture around the apples to make you focus on the apples, size is used to make all of the apples look equal in size, and texture in this picture is used with the water on the apples making them look wet.

The principles of design used in this picture are: contrast is used with the black background colour and 3 different apple colours to make them stand out and proximity is used to to show visual unity by putting the 3 apples beside each other.

The elements of design used in this picture are: space on the left side of the picture to define the importance of the motorcycle, value is used in this picture because everything to the left of the motorcycle is blurry and the motorcyle is very clear which shows the importance of the motorcyle once again, size is used to create a visual interest for the motorcycle and texture is used on the road which is very smooth implying that it is a smooth ride on the motorcycle.

The principles of design used in this picture are: contrast is used by tone/value in this picture and this makes the motorcycle stand out from the blurred part of the picture and alignment is used by making the motorcycle aligned well with the road, and this makes the picture feel visually cohesive.

The elements of design used in this picture are: space is used in this picture before the island to make your eyes focus on the island easily, size is used in this picture by making the island small and the water area big does not necessarily make the island lose its importance but it makes it easy to focus on the island when you look at the picture, colour is used by separating the blue and green  and also by using a lot of blue it makes the picture cool and passive, and texture is used in this picture with the water being still it makes the picture seem calm.

The principles of design used in this picture are: alignment because the island is centered in the middle of the image and contrast is used in this picture with colour and size.

This picture was created using photoshop, in this assignment i learned how to take parts from websites or other pictures and mesh them together with a nice background picture.

In this project i learned how to use photoshop to create a different magazine cover, as you can see above i changed how the first magazine cover looked like to a version of my own.

Elements of Design

Texture: I used texture in this picture with the water it gives it a flow or deep texture.

Space: The element of space is used in this picture because the objects are spaced out in the large background.

Colour: I used colour in this picture by making all of the modes of transportation the colour white and because I did that it makes them look collective and ties them in together, while making the other things stand out more.

Size: I used size in this picture by making some objects larger than other and by doing so this shows how far or how close an object is.

Principles of Design

Alignment: The picture is centered on the sun and everything else is aligned around it.

Contrast: The bright colours of the fireworks in the picture make them pop out at you and is probably the first thing you notice about the picture because of the contrast in colours.
